The Sidi Bou Said School of Critial Protest Studies (SBS SCPS) was conceived in Tunis in 2017 by Laryssa Chomiak and Jillian Schwedler as a means of engaging and networking scholars globally—but particularly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region—who are studying protests and contentious politics from a critical perspective.
